Manchester City defender Benjamin Mendy is back in training, the Frenchman has revealed, as he answered questions from fans on social media about his long-term future at the club.
Mendy has been out since the October international break with yet another injury, missing the last seven games. However, City boss Guardiola had previously said he hopes to have his left-back available after the current break for international fixtures when the Blues travel to Tottenham next weekend.
Now, in answering questions from supporters on Instagram, Mendy has revealed he is back in training which would put him on track for that timeline of returning at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
When asked if he would be soon back on the pitch, Mendy replied: "Yes I started again and everything is going well."
Also in the question and answer session, Mendy confirmed he would like to return to former club - and City's current Champions League group stage opponents - Marseille.
The question was posed to him whether he would consider a return to the Stade Velodrome, where he made 81 appearances between 2013 and 2016, and the defender simply replied with 'yes'.
But that doesn't mean an exit is on the cards, as Mendy confirmed he still wants to be at City, replying 'yes, always' to the question of whether he feels good at the Etihad.
Other revelations from Mendy's answers saw Raheem Sterling, Bernardo Silva, Riyad Mahrez and Aymeric Laporte as his closest friends at City, while he described Sterling as a 'top guy from the first day, he helped me a lot with the language.'
