BENGALURU: A 26-year-old man, who celebrated his birthday on Saturday, was found murdered near NICE Road in Kengeri on Sunday.
The public alerted police upon coming across the body dumped near Konasandra underpass bridge.
The victim is Hemant Kumar alias Dileep alias Kashi, a resident of K Gollahalli in Hemmigepura. He painted vehicle licence plates for a living. The assailant’s had smashed the victim’s face. Initially, police had no clue about the youth’s identity as they couldn’t find any paper or near the body. However, a tattoo on his right arm helped in identification. A few family-friends of Hemant visited the police station on Sunday morning to file a missing complaint.Cops showed them Hemant’s body, which they identified on seeing the clothes and the tattoo.
They said Hemant had celebrated his birthday with them on Saturday. “Later, he went out with his friends for another round. He was in touch with us till 10pm, after which his phone was switched off,” they said. tnn
