BENGALURU: A 37-year-old woman accused her friend of extorting Rs 5 lakh from her and demanding Rs 10 lakh more.
Police said they are looking for the suspect who went missing after the woman approached cops.
The woman identified the suspect as Vijay Kumar, 34, a resident of Kumara Park.
“We met 10 months ago and became close. But for the past month, his behaviour changed and he would argue and beat me over trivial issues. I decided to distance myself and stopped speaking to him,” she said. “Then he started blackmailing me, saying he would share videos of our time together on social media if I didn’t give him Rs 5 lakh. I obliged, but now he wants Rs 10 lakh more,” she said.
