Bengaluru: Three held for mugging truck driver, cleaner

BENGALURU: Three persons were arrested by Yelahanka New Town police for allegedly robbing Rs 18,000 from a truck driver and cleaner near Puttenahalli BMTC bus depot near Yelahanka on Tuesday midnight.

The accused are Suresh alias Suri, Madhu and a 17-year-old boy, all residents of Puttenahalli.

On July 5, Goutam B, a resident of Ramanagara, had parked his truck near Puttenahalli BMTC depot.

He along with his cleaner Pradeep slept in the truck cabin. Goutam woke up at 12.30am, hearing someone break the truck’s glass. He noticed three miscreants; two of them took stones and damaged the front windshield. They threatened Gowtam and Pradeep. They demanded cash and other valuables from them. Gowtam gave Rs 18,000 cash he had with him and the miscreants fled the spot. Meanwhile, a passerby, called the police control room. Police examined CCTV footage from nearby commercial establishments and identified the suspects and arrested them. tnn
