BENGALURU: A gang of three has been arrested for allegedly placing an order for 100 LPG commercial cylinders from an agency and escaping without making payment.
The accused are Suhail Ahmed, 24, Virgonagar, Syed Jaif Pasha, 20, of Thanisandra, and Ganesh alias Shanmukha, 31, of Udaynagar near Tin Factory.
Police have seized 100 LPG cylinders, a van, a mini-truck, an autorickshaw and a mobile phone from them.
According to preliminary investigation, the accused trio worked with a few gas agencies and teamed up to make a quick buck. They identified Prateek Enterprises in Amruthahalli and contacted its manager Raghu S. They placed an order for 100 commercial cylinders and convinced Raghu they would pay the money and return empty cylinders at the time of delivery.
Raghu sent cylinders in a truck driven by one Santosh on April 5. The suspects loaded the cylinders into their vehicles and fled without making payment or returning empty cylinders. Police arrested them while they were trying to supply the cylinders to hotels.
