BENGALURU: A 25-year-old JD(S) worker died in a road accident in the early hours of Saturday after attending the party’s valedictory programme — Janata Jaladhare — held at Nelamangala on Friday.
Kurur police have identified the deceased as Mousin, an auto driver and resident of Hassan town. According to police, the incident took place on NH-75 near Madigondanahalli village, 20km from Nelamangala at 1.30am.
The incident came to light around 2am, when highway patrolling cops found Mousin dead on the road. “He was walking on the road at the spot, when an unknown speeding vehicle knocked him down. He sustained severe injuries and died instantly,” said police.
Kudur police have registered a case based on a complaint by Mousin’s elder brother, Wasim Akram against an unknown vehicle driver. Mousin’s body was handed over to the family.
