Cabbie held for molestation in Bengaluru

BENGALURU: A 25-year-old driver with a cab aggregator has been arrested for allegedly sexually harassing a woman on Tuesday.

Police said a youngster had a party at a friend’s house in JB Nagar on the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday. He booked a cab home and it arrived at 2am. He was in an inebriated condition and fell on the road while getting into the cab. The woman who hosted the party sought help from the driver, Manjunath, to get her friend into the vehicle. He allegedly touched her inappropriately and misbehaved with her. Police took up a case under IPC section 354a and arrested the driver on Wednesday.

Police said the accused has denied the woman’s claim.
