Bengals WR John Ross could be a bargain in a trade to the Steelers

The Pittsburgh Steelers are preparing to enter an era of football not containing wide receiver Antonio Brown. The disgruntled Steelers has made it clear he wants traded and if the team gets value for him, he’s as good as gone. Speaking of trades, Brown’s potential replacement might be available for a bargain and from a fellow AFC North team. NFL reporter Ian Rapoport is reporting the Cincinnati Bengals are looking to shop wide receiver John Ross.

Ross is pure speed. He can absolutely tear the top off of a secondary. He ran a 4.22-second 40-yard dash at the 2017 scouting combine which is the best time ever. The Bengals ended up drafting him No. 9 overall.

Unfortunately, Ross’ NFL game hasn’t really materialized. Last season Ross was targeted 58 times but only hauled in 21 receptions. This was in comparison to seven drops. However, Ross did catch a touchdown every three catches.

A change of scenery would be great for Ross. His college film is very good. He can catch the football and could be an absolute weapon in the passing game. And in fairness, Ross has never had a quarterback like Ben Roethlisberger throwing him the ball. If the Steelers could get him for a day-three pick, it’s a no brainer.
