Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver A.J. Green is not likely to play against the Jaguars Sunday because of an ankle injury sustained in July.
Green missed practices on both Wednesday and Thursday, but he told the Bengals website that his surgically-repaired ankle hasn't suffered a setback.
"I'm just taking my time. I'm not sore. I just have to take my time," Green said. "If I can go, I can go. If I can't, I can't. It's no big thing. Like I said from day one, if I'm healthy enough to play then I'm going to play. Right now, I still have a little ways to go."
Green practiced but was a limited participant last week because of his ankle injury that occurred during the first practice of training camp. In eight seasons, Green has 602 career receptions for 8,907 yards and 63 touchdowns. But Tyler Boyd has emerged as the Bengals' No. 1 receiver. He has a team-high 40 catches for 416 yards after six games. He needs to average 58.4 yards over the final 19 games to reach 1,000 for the season.
