Bengals worked out free agents Anthony Zettel and Nate Orchard

The Cincinnati Bengals continue to browse available talent with the roster an injury-riddled mess.

One day removed from swiping former Pittsburgh Steelers rookie guard Fred Johnson on waivers, the Bengals worked out free agents Anthony Zettel and Nate Orchard, according to Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle.

Zettel, 27, was a sixth-round pick by Detroit in 2016 and was waived in September of 2018 before getting picked up by Cleveland. Over 44 games, he has 7.5 sacks and was solid against the run as an end.

Orchard, 26, was a second-round pick by Clevland in 2015, then split time with two different teams in 2018. He signed with Seattle this offseason but was ousted after the Ziggy Ansah trade, then he went to Miami before getting cut in September. He had a workout with Detroit but hasn’t surfaced and sits on 38 games and five sacks.

With Kerry Wynn now on injured reserve and Carlos Dunlap missing last week due to injury, the Bengals seem to be doing some due diligence for what has unexpectedly been a weak point for the roster.
