Bengals won’t wear throwbacks in 2019 for NFL’s 100th season

The Cincinnati Bengals don’t appear to be getting in on the festivities in 2019 for the NFL’s 100th season.

While some teams like the Chicago Bears are set to have some sleek throwbacks to wear next season, the Bengals will stick to three standard jerseys.

Here’s The Athletic’s Paul Dehner Jr.: “Unfortunately, I have bad news. There will be no Bengals throwbacks in honor of the 100th season or in honor of anything. It will be the standard three uniforms we’ve seen with the black, white and orange jerseys featured.”

Call it slightly disappointing: the Bengals can always do some interesting things with their jerseys, which the Thursday Night white color-rush uniforms have shown in the past.

We’ve wondered if the Bengals need a uniform update for a while now. That doesn’t appear to be in the cards — neither does a 100th-anniversary edition.

The NFL is going all out for its 100th season, but unless something changes, the biggest alteration to Bengals jerseys will come in the form of a 100th patch near the neck area.
