Bengals were NFL’s only team to vote against pass interference replay change

The Cincinnati Bengals don’t come out of this one looking good.

At the owner’s meetings this week, the NFL passed an overwhelming vote to make offensive and defensive pass interference calls reviewable.

The only vote against the new addition, going against all 31 other teams, was the Bengals.

It is hard to say why at this point, though either way it doesn’t do the Bengals any favors in the “outdated” reputation some have thrown at them. Typically, Mike Brown leans against replay.

The new wrinkle is a direct response to the missed call in the NFC title game that hurt the New Orleans Saints. Coaches and fans alike have clamored for such a change for years.

While one could argue another layer of possible reviews could slow things down, this is a one-year test of a new system and it was clear everyone in the league was already on board with a sensible solution.

Well, almost everyone.
