Bengals’ Week 6 game under microscope as Colts close down facility

The Week 6 game between the Cincinnati Bengals and Indianapolis Colts is now something of a question mark on the Friday before Sunday’s kickoff.

Early Friday morning, the Colts announced they shut down facilities in response to several members of the organization testing positive for COVID-19.

While early reports make it seem like the Colts are merely being as precautious as possible, we’ve seen this sort of scenario have a broad range of outcomes for other teams already.

Should the tests turn out to be false positives, Sunday’s game would likely go on as planned. But the NFL has shifted other games to Monday and Tuesday nights already in response to outbreaks.

If the game does need delayed, there are plenty of options such as merely pushing it back a week, then playing the second Cincinnati-Cleveland game during those team’s previously scheduled by week.

We’ll have live updates on this front as they happen.
