Bengals waive QB Jeff Driskel

The Cincinnati Bengals have parted ways with quarterback Jeff Driskel.

Cincinnati announced the move Wednesday, which came via injury settlement.

Driskel joined the Bengals via waivers from the San Francisco 49ers in 2016 and went on to start five games during his time with the team.

This offseason, a new Bengals coaching staff added the only two quarterbacks to take official predraft visits to Paul Brown Stadium with draft pick Ryan Finley and undrafted free agent Jake Dolegala.

That left Driskel as a longshot despite having an advantage in experience with the team and a preseason injury didn’t help.

Cincinnati ended up rostering three quarterbacks in an effort to keep Dolegala, though Driskel shouldn’t have a hard time latching on elsewhere if he’s healthy.
