Bengals waive Mark Walton

The Cincinnati Bengals have decided to part ways with running back Mark Walton.

Walton has been arrested three different times in 2019 alone. In January he got hit with a misdemeanor marijuana possession charge. A battery charge followed a month later before charges of reckless driving, marijuana possession and carrying a concealed weapon in mid-March.

A fourth-round pick by the Bengals in 2018, Walton was viewed as insurance if Giovani Bernard leaves after next season and a rotational piece when necessary.

Walton struggled on the field as a rookie and his departure means one of the teams various Day 3 picks will likely be used to address the void on the depth chart.

This is another quick move for new Bengals head coach Zac Taylor, who didn’t hesitate to cut Vontaze Burfict while beginning to craft his own culture in Cincinnati.
