Bengals vs. Steelers 2019: Updated odds before Week 4, MNF

The Cincinnati Bengals still aren’t getting a ton of love from oddsmakers ahead of a Week 4, Monday Night Football encounter with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

This one isn’t too surprising given the history of the series and current happenings surrounding each team despite a combined record of 0-6.

The Bengals are 4.5-point underdogs (odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds).

This line has mostly held steady despite the final injury report declaring four Bengals out for the game and the announcement that rookie Michael Jordan will start over first-round product Billy Price at left guard.

Meaning, the Bengals will still be without Cordy Glenn on the left edge and the perplexing “battle” at left guard will continue. Behind this line, the ground game has mostly struggled and while Andy Dalton has put up stats, much of it has come on chunk plays created by John Ross.

The Steelers won’t have Big Ben on the field but the combination of playing at home, Cincinnati’s poor record on primetime and the lopsided history of this rivalry — the Bengals haven’t won a game in it since 2015 — mean oddsmakers are still plenty comfortable with the home team.

While the Bengals remain an intriguing underdog gambit here, it might be best to shy away from this rivalry until one of these teams actually starts showing signs of life in the win column.
