Bengals to use new headset communication system in 2019

The Cincinnati Bengals are changing quite a lot under new head coach Zac Taylor, which seems to include portions of the communications aspect.

According to Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com, the Bengals have aimed at less possible interference while their coaches man the sidelines:

“What is unique about this year is the Bengals will utilize a streamlined headset communication system that should eliminate any interference and be easier to manage from the equipment side.”

Citing senior director of technology Jake Kiser, this new system should have less interference via its encryption.

This might remind some Bengals fans of last December, where Marvin Lewis’ staff reverted to using walkie-talkies during a game. Various stories of interferences have popped up for teams over the last few years.

The new headsets here came up because Taylor moved Bengals practice on Thursday to inside Paul Brown Stadium so they could emulate a live-game setting ahead of Saturday’s contest against Kansas City.
