While it isn’t the case in most things, the Cincinnati Bengals should absolutely follow the Houston Texans’ lead in one key area: helmets.
Those Texans just took advantage of a new NFL rule that permits teams to use an alternate helmet a few times a year. That new red alternate instantly gives the Texans a top-10 look in the NFL, at least based on the reactions to it.
And we know the Bengals have two things going for them. 1. They have one of the most iconic helmets in the league already. 2. They have some wicked chances to get creative with alternative helmets.
For example, a helmet with white and black stripes would look great with the Color Rush jerseys. That, or perhaps a throwback helmet. Bengals fans have come up with many great ideas for custom alternate looks.
The Patriots have already done the same thing as the Texans. If the Bengals are next, it would be a brilliant move and undoubtedly great looking.
