Bengals should be all over recently released OT Morgan Moses

If the Cincinnati Bengals want a shot at offensive tackle Morgan Moses, now would be the time to do it.

Washington just cut the veteran tackle. Before that obvious move, he was the subject of trade speculation and we broke down why the Bengals shouldn’t trade for him — but add him if he hits free agency.

And he’s available on the market now.

The Bengals should be all over it. They won’t have to give up trade assets or inhale his original big salary. And they would add a veteran who had a 80.6 PFF grade last year.

There are negatives, sure. The Bengals want to save cash for extensions. They already have a right tackle with Riley Reiff, too. But if the objective is to put the best possible five in front of Joe Burrow, they can’t reasonably not check in on Moses if he’s on the market.

Maybe the Bengals get outbid because starting-caliber tackles like Moses are pretty rare. But at least trying would be a good sign the Bengals are not opposed to further improvements when it comes to protecting the franchise’s most valuable commodity.
