Bengals select South Dakota St. DB Jordan Brown in seventh round

The Cincinnati Bengals closed out their 2019 NFL draft class in the seventh round with South Dakota State defensive back Jordan Brown.

Brown is a bigger defender for his spot at 6’0″ and 201 pounds, which is a far cry from his smaller wide receiver frame he showed up with to start his college career.

On paper, Brown has the size and upside all teams should covet this late in a draft. If proper coaching can get him corrected on technique and willingness to fight for the ball, he could end up making a roster and having an impact.

The Bengals had been projected to address cornerback a bit earlier in the draft based on the long-term outlook, but with Brown, they get a guy with mid-round upside late in the process.
