After focusing on offense with their first two selections in the 2019 NFL draft, the Cincinnati Bengals switched to defense with their third-round pick and took NC State linebacker Germaine Pratt.
Pratt is the No. 72 overall pick and hits a big need for the Bengals right in the heart of the defense. The 6’2″, 240-pound linebacker is a former safety who switched to linebacker and has the versatility to play at any spot.
The Bengals had to address linebacker at some point after Jonah Willaims in the first round and tight end Drew Sample in the second. They settle for the third round and potentially get a guy who can play himself into a healthy amount of snaps quickly.
Pratt is scheduled to be the only Bengals selection in the third round.
