Bengals select LB Deshaun Davis, RB Rodney Anderson with back-to-back picks in sixth round

The Cincinanti Bengals had back-to-back picks near the end of the sixth round and went need and luxury.

First up was Auburn linebacker Deshaun Davis, a 5’11”, 234-pound defender with iffy athletic numbers but good backup potential. Next was Oklahoma running back Rodney Anderson, who earned a Stevan Ridley comparison from NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein.

Anderson only carried the ball 11 times last year, but the year prior ran for 1,161 yards and 13 touchdowns. He fell mostly due to medical concerns.

At this stage of the draft, the Bengals were looking for camp bodies with outside potential to compete for a roster spot at deep positions. Both have at least shown some productivity at major programs.
