Bengals rule AJ Green out ahead of week six

The Cincinnati Bengals have ruled out wide receiver A.J. Green ahead of their week six match-up with the Baltimore Ravens. Green is recovering from ankle surgery he got over the summer. The former Georgia Bulldog was initially ruled out six to eight weeks, but his recovery has taken much longer.

The winless Bengals sorely miss A.J. Green. Green is in a contract year and has a questionable future with the team. The 0-5 Bengals have had their playoff hopes all but eliminated to begin the season. Cincinnati doesn’t have a bye week until the first week of November.

A.J. Green will not practice this week either. The Bengals expected Green to be back earlier in the season, since they did not place him on Injured Reserve.
