Bengals rookie LB Logan Wilson details his offseason workouts

Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow isn’t the only rookie putting in notable offseason workouts right now.

Bengals third-round pick Logan Wilson has been hard at work too this summer. He detailed his prep for training camp during these odd times, as captured by Davis Potter of Kokomo Perspective:

“I just wanted to make sure that I did some speed work just to maintain my speed throughout the quarantine. Just try to be in as good of shape as I could given the circumstances. Even when I’d go to the weight room, it wasn’t like I was able to lift super heavy because we weren’t allowed to have a spotter. So everything was just kind of like at your own risk, and I didn’t want to risk injuring myself without having any spotter. With the nature of what we’re all going through, I was just thankful I even had a gym to throw some weight around in.”

Wilson was one of the rookies to arrive at Paul Brown Stadium last week and ink his rookie deal, but he’ll continue to wait in limbo before he has to take another coronavirus test and actually get on the field.

A likely prominent piece of the plan for the Bengals defensively, Wilson’s quick look into how he’s prepped this offseason is an encouraging sign.

With veterans reporting soon, Wilson should get to train with the rest of his new teammates once the team works through the proper protocols to really get camp up and running.
