Bengals rookie Khalid Kareem issues heartfelt statement on current events

Cincinnati Bengals players have been active in a positive manner over the last week or so when it comes to events outside the football world.

Quarterback Joe Burrow used his platform to address the George Floyd protests and wideout Auden Tate led cleanup efforts in Tampa Bay.

Fifth-round rookie Khalid Kareem has also issued a statement on social media, asking athletes, brands and otherwise to make sure actions reflect words — and that the actions are ongoing in an effort to spur greater change, not a momentary stance before things quiet again.

Kareem was a critical add for the Bengals in the character department as Zac Taylor sought to overhaul the culture in his locker room. He was a leader and captain at Notre Dame and came highly regarded, though actions there pale in comparison to a statement like this — and we’re excited to see what Kareem does next.
