Bengals reportedly swipe free agent Kerry Wynn from Giants

The Cincinnati Bengals secured one of two free agents that visited them from the New York Giants this week, inking defensive lineman Kerry Wynn to a one-year deal, according to ESPN’s Jordan Raanan.

Wynn, along with safety Curtis Riley, visited the Bengals this week.

Defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo clearly has some sway when it comes to how the Bengals tackle free agency this year. Wynn is a 28-year-old depth piece who can disrupt the quarterback from the edge or inside and helps with depth on special teams.

Like most of their signings this offseason, the Bengals nabbed Wynn and don’t necessarily have an upgrade on their hands — but they do address a need enough to keep a best-player-available strategy viable on draft day.

Wynn will have plenty of competition this summer to stick around on his prove-it deal, but especially if the Bengals decide to go get a rookie defensive lineman high in the draft.
