Bengals reportedly attempted to claim former Browns LB Tanner Vallejo

Knowing they have a massive issue to fix at the position this offseason, the Cincinnati Bengals attempted to make a move at linebacker already.

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Bengals were one of several teams to put a claim in on Tanner Vallejo after his release from the Cleveland Browns:

A former sixth-round pick of the Buffalo Bills in 2017, Vallejo instead ended up with the Arizona Cardinals.

Only 24 years old, Vallejo only appeared in 13 games and played 145 snaps last season. The timing of the release was odd, to say the least.

That the Bengals gunned for Vallejo and a rebuilding team like the Cardinals used prime waiver priority to get him says he’s still valued. It also confirms the Bengals will continue to seek out help at the position.
