Bengals receive plenty of hype for signing Winston Rose

The Cincinnati Bengals reached into the CFL for a recent signing with cornerback Winston Rose.

Rose had just helped his Winnipeg Blue Bombers rise to the Grey Cup championship before leaving the league to ink a two-year deal with the Bengals.

A native of Inglewood, Calif. who played college ball at New Mexico State, Rose played in 19 games this year, tallying 58 tackles and nine interceptions, best mark in the league while lifting his team to the Grey Cup for the first time in 29 years.

The Bombers released Rose so he could chase the NFL, where the Bengals — a team desperately in need of more interceptions from its corners — was willing to give him a chance.

This is the first sign the Bengals have an eye on retooling corner this offseason.
