The Cincinnati Bengals have once again dipped into the Andre Smith well.
Seeking camp bodies to replace the injured Jonah Williams, the Bengals re-upped with the free-agent tackle Thursday, according to Geoff Hobson of the team’s website.
Smith, a first-round pick by the Bengals in 2009, is now 32 years old and popped up with the Bengals last year late in the season. He had moonlighted in Arizona prior to the appearance.
The Bengals hadn’t had a third offensive tackle on the roster since Williams needed surgery to repair a torn labrum.
Bengals brass had recently hinted at adding another tackle, and perhaps still might once teams start cutting players.
