Bengals, Ravens will make some fun history during Week 2 showdown

To say the Cincinnati Bengals and Baltimore Ravens know each other well would be an understatement.

As it turns out, the AFC North rivals will make a bit of NFL history by facing the same opponent for the third time in a four-game stretch (including postseason). That has never happened in the Super Bowl era. The last time it occurred was with the Baltimore Colts and Green Bay Packers in 1965-1966.

ESPN’s Jamison Hensley provided the trivia and a quick quote from Ravens head coach John Harbaugh: “There’s a new level of familiarity.”

The Bengals have won these teams’ last two meetings: a 27-17 win in Week 17 and a 24-17 wild-card victory in which Sam Hubbard had a 98-yard fumble return for a touchdown.

For the Bengals, getting to 3-0 during this run would mean avoiding a tough 0-2 hole to start the season.
