Bengals QB Joe Burrow says he’s on track to start next season

Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow expects to be ready for Week 1 of the 2021 NFL season.

Burrow said as much Thursday during an appearance on Colin Cowherd’s “The Herd,” noting that he wants to get in a little practice in fall camp.

Here’s what he said, according to The Athletic’s Paul Dehner Jr.:

“Things are on track to start the season the way I need to. Practice a little bit in fall camp and be ready to go…”

“…I think I’ll be ready. I think I’ll be just fine.”

Burrow underwent reconstructive knee surgery and quickly went viral for posting a video of his walking progress on December 25. He then went viral again for sending a message to Bengals fans after the team announced it would retain head coach Zac Taylor.

Thursday’s developments confirm the general vibes Burrow, his camp and the team have given off in the early stages of rehab — he currently seems to be on pace to suit up in Week 1.
