The Cincinnati Bengals didn’t waste much time getting Greg Mabin off the practice squad and on to the 53-man roster.
A day after singing Mabin to the practice squad, the team announced, as seen in the tweet above, that they were waiving Keaton Sutherland to make room for the cornerback on the roster.
Tuesday, the Bengals waived running back Jordan Ellis off the practice squad to grab Mabin, a third-year corner who has played with a variety of different teams and logged 20 games so far.
The move likely comes in response to the injury suffered by B.W. Webb earlier this year, which caused Darius Phillips and Tony McRae to split time on the field in Week 3. Waiving an offensive lineman could also signal Michael Jordan and/or Cordy Glenn are close to being 100 percent.
