Bengals primed for chance to go from last to first in AFC North

The Bengals are primed to be the next team to go from last to first in their respective division. For the Bengals, it’d mean dominating the AFC North.

The feat of going from last to first is actually a far more common occurrence than you would’ve thought. In 15 of the last 16 seasons, a team went from last in their division to the division’s champ in just one offseason.

With the second-easiest strength of schedule and the significant changes on other AFC North teams, the Bengals could reign supreme, but it might take a miracle.

The Bengals would have to beat out the Browns, the favorite to win the division. Cleveland gained momentum at the end of the 2018 season and then made the trade of the offseason, acquiring Odell Beckham Jr. from New York.

However, if the Browns implode, which is far from impossible, the Bengals could be the favorite.

They’d still have to go through Pittsburgh and Baltimore though.

That said, Pittsburgh did lose both Le’Veon Bell and Antonio Brown while Baltimore will be captained by an unproven Lamar Jackson and will have to find a way to replace the dynamic C.J. Mosley.

Let’s just say this: the Bengals could win the AFC North.

Unlikely? Yes. But, it’s definitely a possibility with all the transition that occurred this offseason.
