Bengals place 5 players on PUP/NFI lists ahead of camp

The Cincinnati Bengals report to training camp Friday and get started in Dayton on Saturday.

As usual, the Bengals had to commit to some housecleaning moves before really getting started. Other than re-signing offensive tackle Andre Smith, the Bengals put the following players on the physically unable to perform list:

  • Jonah Williams
  • Darqueze Dennard
  • Darius Phillips
  • Alex Redmond
  • Rodney Anderson (NFI)

The placement means the players will still continue to count against the team’s 91-player limit for now.

We knew Dennard was still working his way back from an injury and Redmond will start the year suspended. Most notable is Williams, the first-round pick who had an operation to repair a torn labrum and is likely out for the year.

Keep in mind names like A.J. Green aren’t on the lists, meaning they’re likely full-go.
