Bengals not worried about how trade deadline moves impact locker room

Cincinnati Bengals head coach Zac Taylor says the team isn’t worried about how adding guys at the trade deadline will impact the locker room and culture.

It’s an interesting tidbit from the head coach’s otherwise mundane meeting with the media on Wednesday, as captured by the Cincinnati Enquirer’s Kelsey Conway: “I have not had those concerns just in general…our guys do a good job of taking them under their wings and making them part of the group.”

The question is a totally fair one to ask — these Bengals blatantly have a newfound culture and adding or subtracting from it could have an impact.

But Taylor seems unconcerned as can be about it, which makes plenty of sense given the trust he has in his leaders. He uses the Tre Flowers example to illustrate this, pointing out that the recent waiver claim had a big impact in practice right away.

While the Bengals don’t need a desperation move at the deadline, it’s easy to see them as buyers or sellers in a smaller move to either improve depth or gain assets for the long-term.
