Bengals, NFL teams could reportedly ask fans to sign COVID-19 liability waivers

The Cincinnati Bengals might ask fans hoping to attend games at Paul Brown Stadium this offseason to sign COVID-19 liability waivers.

This idea stems from a report by Daniel Kaplan of The Athletic, whose source said the waivers are “probably something you do electronically, just trying to figure out the operational challenges associated with waivers.”

The NFL has maintained consistently that the regular season will go off as planned, albeit with some modifications. This waiver addition to proceedings comes after President Trump’s rally in Tulsa required attendees to sign a waiver.

Logistics on such a move still remain in flux. But the waiver requirement would be the latest shuffling of normal proceedings.

The NFL will already require the Bengals and all teams to tape off the first six to eight rows for each game. And this week the NFL reduced the preseason to just two games.
