Bengals met with pair of notable defensive linemen ahead of 2019 NFL draft

The Cincinnati Bengals aren’t hiding the fact they want to address the defensive line this year.

After meeting with free agents like Shaquil Barrett and Danny Shelton, the Bengals signed former New York Giants rotational piece Kerry Wynn. Otherwise, it is clear their efforts in this area are dialed in on the draft.

Not hard to see why. The spot next to Geno Atkins still needs some help and the rotational pass rush isn’t guaranteed to be effective with Carl Lawson working his way back from a season-ending injury.

To that end, the Bengals have met with Florida State defensive tackle Albert Huggins and Georgia Tech defensive end Anree St. Amour:

Huggins was especially impressive with the Seminoles, coming in on a rotational basis and standing tall against the rush.

Neither meet is much of a surprise, but provides some insight into what the Bengals are prioritizing as they work through the process. Both names should have some mindshare among fans now as possible targets in the mid rounds.
