Bengals make critical LB roster moves ahead of showdown with Ravens

It didn’t take long in Week 16 for Cincinnati Bengals head coach Zac Taylor to rule out star linebacker Logan Wilson for the showdown with the Baltimore Ravens.

In response to this, plus a confirmed torn ACL for backup Joe Bachie, the Bengals made a flurry of roster moves at the position before practice gets started on Wednesday.

The moves:

  • LB Joe Bachie to IR
  • Signed LB Keandre Jones to active roster from practice squad
  • Brought LB Clay Johnston to active roster off Reserve/COVID-19 list.
  • Signed LB Tegray Scales to practice squad

Bachie to IR means Sunday will be the Germaine Pratt and Markus Bailey show there. Jones has played in two games this year as a weekly practice squad elevation but doesn’t figure to get a ton of work outside of special teams.

If Scales sounds familiar to fans, it’s because he played locally at Colerain High School and has been in the NFL since 2018.
