Bengals lose Carl Lawson, Andre Smith and Kerry Wynn to injury vs. 49ers

The Cincinnati Bengals lost several notable players to injury during the Week 2 game against the San Francisco 49ers.

First was left tackle Andre Smith, a stand-in for Cordy Glenn there and technically the team’s third tackle. He had been dealing with a lower-body issue this week and had a horrendous showing before going to the blue tent.

Defensive end Kerry Wynn also left the game and was quickly ruled out.

Late in the game, arguably the biggest news of all came down from the team — Carl Lawson suffered a hamstring injury that immediately ruled him out.

Lawson remains the team’s most effective pass rusher, so it was a big blow for the defense. The hope has to be the team saw the score (34-10 at the time) and decided it wasn’t worth risking him further.

We’ll have more on all three as it breaks.
