Bengals’ Joe Burrow speaks out after Big Ten reportedly cancels 2020 season

Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow joined the likes of Clemson’s Trevor Lawrence in speaking out after the Big Ten decided to cancel football this season.

Burrow took to social media to say the following on the subject: “I feel for all college athletes right now. I hope their voices are heard by the decision makers. If this happened a year ago I may be looking for a job right now.”

The Big Ten elected to scrap the season due to concerns over the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Presidents voted 12-2 to cancel the season, per the Dan Patrick Show. The conference plans to announce the move tomorrow, according to the Detroit Free Press.

It’s staggering to think what a cancellation like this might’ve done to Burrow’s pro prospects, as before his final collegiate season he wasn’t on the Round 1 radar — he went on to have one of the best seasons by a college passer ever and went No. 1.

In other words, it’s not shocking to see him speak out in such a manner.
