Bengals’ Joe Burrow is only rookie QB to accomplish these stat feats

Cincinnati Bengals rookie quarterback Joe Burrow is off to a red-hot start over the first three games of his career.

While he’s had problems completing a pass deep down the field, he’s still putting up monster numbers. As we noted coming out of Week 3, he made some outright history with his 91 completions, the most of any passer ever over the course of his first three starts.

And as researchers dig in, they keep coming up with more impressive takeaways.

As CBS Sports pointed out, Burrow’s statistical feats in yardage, passing touchdowns and interceptions right now are the highest of any rookie passer:

That might seem like a cherry-picked set of numbers at first. But it’s rather impressive considering Burrow has had to attempt 36, 61 and 44 passes over his first three games, yet he’s managed to complete 64.5 percent of them and turn the ball over just once via interception.

The reality is simple: Burrow isn’t getting much help, whether it’s from his offensive line or weapons around him. And he also didn’t have the benefit of a preseason.

So yes, it’s fair to throw the feats in the impressive column.
