Bengals’ Jake Fisher reinventing himself as a TE

Cincinnati Bengals offensive tackle Jake Fisher is looking to change positions this offseason as he hits free agency.

Drafted as a tackle by the Bengals in the second round in 2015, Fisher is looking for a career turnaround:

Interestingly enough, Fisher was often an eligible receiver on the line for the Bengals in certain packages. The coaches feeding him targets in practice wasn’t all too uncommon.

The Bengals don’t figure to bring Fisher back, as he and Cedric Ogbuehi were the marquee picks of that draft and leftovers from an old coaching staff. Both struggled to get anything going, though Fisher had a heart operation in 2017 and battled injuries last season.

The Bengals do have three tight ends heading to free agency as well, but they figure to prioritize Tyler Eifert and C.J Uzomah over an experiment like Fisher.
