Bengals issue tenders to 4 restricted free agents

The Cincinnati Bengals issued tenders to restricted free agents Monday before the noon deadline.

Those original-round tenders went to tight end Cethan Carter, guard Alex Redmond, safety Brandon Wilson and defensive lineman Josh Tupou.

Each holds some value in the eyes of the coaching staff. The organization has long liked Carter, the new staff likes Redmond, Wilson was one of the better returners in the NFL last year and Tupou has big upside inside.

The moves likely mean the Bengals hold onto the tagged players. Free agency is proceeding as planned, opening Wednesday at 4 p.m. ET.

Before these moves on Monday, the Bengals had applied the franchise tag to star wideout A.J. Green. Instant analysis of the Bengals tagging Green approves of the move.
