Bengals issue statement, changes due to coronavirus pandemic

The Cincinnati Bengals have joined a host of other teams in altering team travel and or work due to coronavirus (COVID-19).

Friday, the Bengals followed the Washington Redskins and others in announcing the move.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport also reported the following, which applies to all teams: “The NFL has told all staff except for operationally critical staff to work from home until further notice beginning tomorrow — ‘out of an abundance of caution and with the health and safety of our communities as our foremost priority.'”

On top of that, Mike Garafolo reported varying pre-draft workouts were in the midst of being canceled:

The response to the pandemic comes at a critical time for all NFL teams as free agency is set to open next week and this stretch marks major prospect meets and pro days before the draft at the end of April.

The Bengals, owners of the first pick and likely players in free agency, now sit in a relative holding pattern while awaiting word from the league on further changes.
