Bengals injury update features John Ross on rehab field, Cordy Glenn absent

The Cincinnati Bengals are still rebounding from an injury-filled 2018 campaign to start the Zac Taylor era.

Notables like Tyler Eifert and A.J. Green were still working on the rehab fields Tuesday while the rest of the team went through practices.

These were the Bengals working on the rehab field:

  • Tyler Eifert
  • Mason Schreck
  • Carl Lawson
  • Ryan Glasgow
  • A.J. Green
  • John Ross
  • Kent Perkins
  • Clint Boling
  • Christian Westerman
  • Alex Redmond
  • Rod Taylor
  • Trayvon Henderson
  • Shawn Williams
  • Rodney Anderson

Many of these don’t come as a surprise. Green and Eifert are still recovering from injuries suffered last year. Others, like Shawn Williams, are an unknown. There have been some rumblings about John Ross but nothing concrete and he’s practiced earlier this offseason.

These were some of the Bengals outright absent:

  • Cordy Glenn
  • Darqueze Dennard

These are more interesting. We knew Darqueze Dennard had a scope and would miss some time but is likely for training camp.

Cordy Glenn is the big one. He just got moved to guard after the arrival of Jonah Williams via the first round. Now he’s absent, which meant Trey Hopkins — after successfully filling in at center last year — moved to left guard.

With Christian Westerman and Clint Boling on the rehab field, we at least have an idea that Hopkins is next in line at left guard if Glenn can’t get healthy or struggles.
