Bengals HC Zac Taylor offers praise for Steelers QB Mason Rudolph

It hasn’t been a great start for new Cincinnati Bengals head coach Zac Taylor. His team is off to an 0-3 start and now have to head into Pittsburgh to take on the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Bengals don’t have a great history against the Steelers and Taylor understands that despite the struggles of Pittsburgh, quarterback Mason Rudolph still presents a challenge for the Bengals defense.

Good football player. Coming out of Oklahoma State, he was one of the better (quarterbacks) in that class. It wouldn’t have surprised me if someone would’ve taken him in the first round. I do remember that. He was a really solid, consistent, accurate passer.

If the Steelers want to turn this season around at all, Rudolph needs to play with the confidence Taylor has in him. Looking critically at Rudolph’s six quarters of NFL football there’s a lot to like about him but there are some glaring problems with his progression so far.
