Bengals great lobbies franchise for improvement in honoring past players

The Cincinnati Bengals honoring former players has been a strong topic of conversation as of late in the wake of Ken Riley’s passing.

And while Bengals legends such as Cris Collinsworth have made brilliant arguments for Riley’s enshrinement in the Hall of Fame, others have focused on what the franchise itself can do for its former players.

We argued now is the perfect time for the Bengals to modernize in how it treats history by crafting a Ring of Honor.

That’s something along the same lines as what former great Bengals offensive tackle Willie Anderson outlined too on social media recently:

Anderson, like many former franchise greats, likely has plenty pull in this area. While the events surrounding the team’s history during its 50th anniversary were nice, it felt like only a hint of what could be done in this area.

And as we noted while lobbying for a Ring of Honor, Riley should probably be the first name to make it.
