Bengals given second-worst AFC playoff odds

The Cincinnati Bengals have fared just fine in the 2019 NFL draft grades department.

Playoff odds, not so much.

According to the odds listing above, the Bengals are a longshot in the AFC, sitting in front of only the rebuilding Miami Dolphins.

Funnily enough, in the past, this could have been blamed on stagnation under Marvin Lewis. Now the conversation shifts to how a new coaching staff represents an unknown, hence the long odds.

Strange dynamic aside, the Bengals used much of free agency to retain their own, if not grab starting guard like John Miller. The draft went toward retooling the offensive line with Jonah Williams and Michael Jordan, though another problem area, linebacker, wasn’t hit until the third round.

But Zac Taylor and the Bengals know this is a prove-it season — longshot odds now were somewhat expected.
