Brutal opener in Seattle will start Zac Taylor era

The Cincinnati Bengals will have to pull off some unexpected magic to start the Zac Taylor era off with a win.

Wednesday’s 2019 schedule release handed the Bengals an up-and-down slate. One of the toughest tasks comes in Week 1: a road visit against the Seattle Seahawks.

Stopping Russell Wilson is hard enough. He threw for 35 touchdowns and seven interceptions a year ago despite taking 51 sacks. Trying to stop him on the road is almost impossible. Especially in his home openers. According to Paul Dehner Jr. of the Cincinnati Enquirer, the Seahawks have won an amazing 10 home openers in a row, with a combined score of 238-74.

Granted, this is a new season for the Bengals — and era. But there were few more difficult ways for it to begin, so Taylor has a chance to make an emphatic statement in his very first game as head coach.
