Bengals get rookie Jackson Carman back just in time for Week 6 vs. Lions

The Cincinnati Bengals got some good news Friday morning by removing second-round guard Jackson Carman from the Reserve/COVID-19 list.

Carman went on the list the Monday following last weekend’s loss to the Green Bay Packers. He had been starting at right guard in front of Joe Burrow due to injuries on the depth chart in front of him.

While Carman has been far from perfect in starting duty, his athleticism has allowed him to show major flashes while likely being the team’s best option at the spot.

The news comes at a great time too. If Carman hadn’t been able to go, the duties would have gone to fourth-round rookie D’Ante Smith — but he hasn’t practiced all week either due to an injury of his own.

While Carman missed two days of practice, there’s zero chance the team would opt for Fred Johnson or Trey Hill as a starter instead against the Detroit Lions.
